Research Agenda
My research focuses on developing participatory methods for schools to meaningfully engage families and communities of historically marginalized groups in the process of school transformation. I use equity assessments to collaboratively align school practices with the community's cultural wealth and needs to create change with true buy-in. The practice of true community engagement will shift mindsets, ensure student identities are valued, and directly address systemic barriers and opportunity gaps. Sustainable change requires this symbiotic school-community partnership. By centering the voices left out of school decision-making, we can transform education to meet the needs of every student and family. A community-driven approach will create schools that communities deserve. I am also interested in how school leaders can create and sustain policies and practices that support equitable outcomes for students of color by utilizing data to address systemic issues from a student-centered approach,
